A visual narrative that records and pays tribute to the African American squadron of fighter pilots, grounds crew, and the families that served in the second world war. This is a story of a people who fought two very different wars. One war was in Europe and the other one at home in the United States the very land that they were fighting for. Research and reference for this project has been obtained by varied literature, by the generosity of historians, by interviews with surviving members of the Tuskegee Airmen and by way of the Air Force Art Program.
A new project in collaboration with Beverly Armstrong that pays tribute to women pioneers of flight.

Masterly executed work of great sensitivity and depth. As always, an inspiration to me and others.
